đź‘‹ Welcome & đź‘“ What to Do First
Welcome to the Florida State Roleplay Staff Instructor Program. This handbook is designed to guide you through your role as a training officer, ensuring that all new moderators are properly instructed, aware of regulations, and capable of performing their duties efficiently. Please read each section carefully and follow the outlined procedures to maintain consistency and professionalism.
Instructor Script Suggestions:
- "Welcome, I am [Instructor Name], and I will be your instructor today."
- "Our goal today is to ensure you are confident, knowledgeable, and capable of performing moderator duties safely and effectively."
- "If at any point you have questions, please say 'PTS?' and I will clarify."
- "Remember, this training is designed to help you improve and succeed as a staff member."
- Ask the trainee to say “1RND” to confirm they are 13 years or older.
- For retraining, follow this guide.
- If the trainee asks you to repeat something, do so respectfully.
- Inform the trainee they may ask questions by saying “PTS?” during training.
➡️ Further Steps
After explaining the following information to the Trainee and ensuring they are of age, you will give the Trainee Moderator Permissions, after that you ensure that they are in the Melonly, and tell them to activate their shift. If they are not in the melony, you will give them 5 minutes to join it, if they are not in after 5 minutes, you may decline to train them.
Following this, you will conduct several practice calls with the trainees. You can ask other high-ranking officials to call the moderator and ask them to provide a rationale for doing so. Alternatively, you might pretend to be the caller and ask them to discuss the circumstances with you. You should make up scenarios or treat them rudely and observe how they handle the situation.
Ask them to take any staff vehicle if you think they're prepared to move forward. Tell them to drive to the tool store, and then return to the station. You can sit in the car with them or drive behind them.
If you think they aren’t prepared- inform them of their mistakes, what they can do to improve, and repeat this once more, if they have shown little to no improvement, politely inform them that they aren’t yet ready to moderate on their own.
